Norwood, MA April 21, 2004 -– Metropolitan Cabinet & Countertops is pleased to announce its 20th Anniversary and Grand Opening of its new 75,000 square foot headquarters and showroom with a Contractor Open House on April 28th and 29th from 2 to 6 p.m. at 505 University Avenue, Norwood.

“We're excited about the milestone," said Stuart Elfland, president of Metropolitan Cabinet & Countertops, who founded the company with his father, Mike Elfland, in 1984. "When the company opened, our immediate goal was to provide exceptional service to the professional trades while ensuring that our customers' experiences were enjoyable and memorable. The open house will showcase a new 7,000 square foot showroom with over 40 displays featuring 12 cabinet manufacturers including Kemper, Decora, LesCare, Crystal and TeddWood. In addition, Metropolitan has four cabinet lines in stock for immediate delivery. Metropolitan will conduct tours of its expanded 20,000 square foot countertop shops, offering in-house production of laminate, Corian ®, Zodiaq® and granite countertops.

Metropolitan has two showrooms 505 University Avenue, Norwood and 450 Arsenal Street, Watertown, with a third location opening Summer 2004 at 10 Mercer Road, Natick.

THRILLER NOVEL ASKS: COINCIDENCE OR PROVIDENCE- Does God provide the right warrior for a time of need?

By Anonymous

September 25, 2004 -- Colonel Josh Poland, on medical leave from Afghanistan, stops a man from mugging diner-owner, Melanie Cooper. Suspecting more behind the attack, the Special Forces officer, decides to dig. He uncovers odd data, nothing conclusive, but if accurate it could add up to an explosion that will kill thousands of veterans during a parade. Josh, Mel, and Detective Buck Carlson, Va.Beach PD, work against time to find proof that terrorists have smuggled in missiles.

Their efforts to stop the attack will keep you guessing until the final page.

Author N.E. Thompson lived and worked in Saudi Arabia during the late '70s and 1980s and knows the Arab mind. In retrospect, she observed the rise of the fundamental sect exporting terrorism today. She gives the reader a vivid glimpse of both good and bad Arabs while challenging her American characters on the precepts of their own Christian faith. A Writer's Digest critique states, "Thompson does a masterful job of drawing believable characters and filling their dialog with personality and verve. A skilled wordsmith, she weaves her Christian themes without artifice."
